This is a list of NT Status errors that are common with BRC replications:
Backup 'Backup Job' on Device Failed --- Error - Communication error: NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT Unable to communicate with remote host. This may be due to networking issues or misconfigured credentials. Errors occurred learning about remote client. Errors occured while setting up the task to run.
Backup "Backup Job" for Device Failed --- Error - Communication error: NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_RESET Unable to communicate with remote host. This may be due to networking issues or misconfigured credentials. Errors occurred learning about remote client. Errors occured while setting up the task to run
Solution: Please do the following to resolve the above issues:
- Log into the server having issues.
- Open the Services Panel or run services.msc.
- Restart axexesvc and axfltsvc.
Note: Axfltsvc may not show up in the services menu. That is normal.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, please contact Axcient Support.
Backup "Backup Job" for Device Failed --- Error - Communication error: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE Unable to communicate with remote host. This may be due to networking issues or misconfigured credentials. Errors occurred learning about remote client. Errors occured while setting up the task to run.
Solution: The credentials the Axcient Backup is using are incorrect. Please do the following:
- Log into the Axcient Appliance.
- Click on Devices.
- Click on the device having trouble.
- Click on Edit Device.
- Update the credentials.
- Once saved, click on Test Access and make sure everything returns Ok.
Backup 'Backup Job' on Device Failed --- Error - Communication error: NT_STATUS_NO_MEMORY Unable to communicate with remote host. This may be due to networking issues or misconfigured credentials. Errors occurred learning about remote client. Errors occured while setting up the task to run.
Solution: This can occur if there is not enough memory on the server. Please schedule a reboot of the server as that will free up resources for the backups.
Backup for "Backup Job" on Device Failed --- Error - Communication error: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS Unable to communicate with remote host. This may be due to networking issues or misconfigured credentials. Errors occurred learning about remote client. Errors occured while setting up the task to run.
Solution: This can occur if the Netlogon service is not started on the device. Make sure that the netlogon service is started on all protected devices.
