Q: At the end of the 36-month lease term, I chose to purchase my leased x360Recover appliance. Will I continue to receive warranty-based appliance support for this appliance? 

A: You will receive warranty-based appliance support through the duration of your warranty term. Often, the warranty term and the lease term will end on the same date. If you wish to receive warranty support after this end date, you can purchase either a 1-year or 2-year extension warranty at the time of the lease buyout. Otherwise, you will be responsible for any necessary repairs or replacements. 

NOTE: Some ECO models do not qualify for a warranty extension. To determine if the ECO is eligible, look at the serial number. Only ECO serial numbers beginning with RXI will qualify for the extended warranty.


Q: I purchased an x360Recover backup appliance without an extended warranty. Now that the original three-year warranty is almost up, can I still add a warranty extension?

A: Yes, an extended warranty can be added at any time during the initial three-year warranty period. For instance, if your three-year warranty expires on December 31, 2023, you can purchase either a 1-year or 2-year extended warranty at any time before this expiration date. 


Q: I want to lease an appliance, but I also want to add an extended warranty. Can I do this?

A: We currently do not offer extended warranties for a leased appliance at the time of order. If you lease an appliance, you will only receive a three-year warranty. However, if at the end of the lease term, you buy out the server, you should inquire about the warranty extension then. It can be added during the buyout. 


Q: I want to extend the warranty for my appliance. If I purchase a 1-year extension, can I then later add a second year?

A: If you choose to add an extended warranty, we will need to know your preferred extension length at that time. If you would like to ensure that your appliance is under warranty for two more years, the 2-year warranty will need to be purchased.  


Q: I ordered an appliance from Axcient. It has been more than five years since the time of purchase, but I did not purchase an extended warranty. Can I still add another year or two of warranty?

A: No. By default, the warranty for an appliance is three years. Extended warranties must be added during the initial three-year warranty. 


Q: The warranty for an appliance is nearing its expiration date. Will I receive a notification warning me about this? 

A: Currently, no. However, a notification process may be implemented in the future. This would let you know that your warranty is about to expire and may include directions for how to order an extended warranty if one becomes available. 


Q: What is the current process for adding an extended warranty to a device if one was not purchased at time of order?

A: Please contact us at customerservice@axcient.com to request a quote. Please provide your device's serial number and desired warranty length.


Q: I have an appliance with an expiring warranty. What are my options? 

A: You have multiple options.

  • If you are within the initial three-year warranty period, you may be able to purchase an extended warranty.
  • If the warranty expires, and the appliance is ineligible for an extended warranty, then you can order a new appliance from Axcient. 
  • You can continue to use the current appliance with the understanding that you are now responsible for all repairs or replacements that the appliance needs. Axcient is unable to fulfill the RMA process once the warranty has expired

Q: My records show that I have 5 years of warranty on an appliance. Where can I see the remaining warranty life? 

A: The warranty period for your BDR was set at the time of purchase. Please reference your purchase invoice to identify the warranty period and starting date. If you are unable to locate this information, please contact us at customerservice@axcient.com for details.


Q: What is covered by the extended warranty? Will I still receive RMA replacements and repairs?

A: Everything covered under the standard 3-year warranty is also covered under the extended warranty, including any necessary RMA replacements and repairs that occur within that time.
