Release overview
x360Recover Agent 2.42 is a maintenance release. The primary focus of this release is to reduce certain agent escalation issues, improve logging to assist with troubleshooting, and address bugs.
Summary of enhancements
- Agent logs warning if issues are detected in the primary or secondary GPT table of protected disks
- Improved Local Cache logging with more human readable messaging
- Improved log messaging when agent cannot reach server
- Agent fails backup if no valid volumes are available for backup
- Updated root certificate authority chain
- Streamlined Windows Event writer (Only write specific events, not the entire agent log)
Summary of bug fixes
- Fixed issue with Local Cache, where it automatically removed empty cache folders
- Fixed issues with Smart Recovery where exported VHD disks might be 1MB larger than the original
- Fixed issue where Endpoint Manager might overwrite manually defined Local Cache parameters in the agent configuration file
- Improved agent detection and reporting of GPT errors on disk
- Fixed detection of protected systems running on Azure to always use the latest version of the Azure API
- Fixed Systray application Local Cache volume utilization (which was reporting free space rather than used space)
- Fixed typo in Systray UI
- Fixed case where deleted blocks garbage collection was not being completed on some systems
- Fixed CPU architecture detection on some platforms
Agent system tray monitor application
This release features the addition of an optional user-space application to display agent status information to the user from the context of the Windows system tray.
The System Tray agent monitor is disabled and hidden by default.
