Restrict access to corporate data backed up for protected MSP’s organization
Many MSPs were concerned about their own organization's data accessibility to x360Cloud users managing client organizations.
By default, any MSP tech user is managing all the x360Cloud organizations under the MSP’s account in x360Cloud - with no way to limit access of MSP techs to that MSP's own organization in x360Cloud.
With 3.67.0, an MSP’s organization can be marked as “restricted” with a list of trusted users who exclusively can access Search, Restore, and Export features.
When an organization becomes restricted, the following functionalities become disabled for MSP techs:
- Search and content Preview for backed up data
- Exploration for backed up data in the Browser
- Restore and Export for backed up data
- Object backup status report
- Organization-level user management
Important: You can request an organization to become restricted via a ticket to Axcient Support. In the request, provide a list of x360Portal users who are trusted to access all x360Cloud features within the restricted organization (including data search, restoration and export).
How does this organization restriction apply to organization-level users?
Organization-level users are users intended for providing access to clients and are not getting their access limited if their organization becomes restricted.
Fixes
- Fix for the issue when Google Calendar event with Google Meet link was restored with no information about the link. While restoration for the Google Meet links is not yet supported in x360Cloud, events are now restored with Google Meet link put into the Description field.
- Fix for the issue when SharePoint and OneDrive folder structure was restored based on latest backup rather than the specified in x360Cloud point in time.
Known Issues
- When folders are partially selected and restored in x360Cloud Browser, each folder is processed as a separate restoration and is restored to a separate target folder in the target location.
- Smart Search shows incorrect number of matching results for Mail when using “Filter by collection”.
- Descriptions for some issues and backup progress are not shown in the container-level downloadable backup report and on the Reports page.
- Archive emails are restored in a separate (timestamped) target folder when restored with general emails.
