Overview
If a desktop client's Autoupdate feature has been disabled (by modifying the update.ini file), administrators can still manually run updates. A desktop client can be updated by launching the Autoupdate tool, or it can be updated in unattended mode (silently) from the command-line.

Update a Desktop Client in Unattended Mode
The following arguments can be used to control the installation process:
--help | Display the list of valid options |
--unattendedmodeui | Unattended Mode UI Default: none Allowed: none, minimal, minimalwithdialogs |
--debuglevel | Debug information level of verbosity Default: 2 Allowed: 0 1 2 3 4 |
--settings_file | Path to the local settings file, containing the HTTP URL to update and the current version ID. Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\x360Sync Sync\bin/update.in |
--url | HTTP URL that points to the xml file containing the update data. |
--version_id | Version ID of the local installation. |
--update_download_location | Path where the downloaded files will be stored. Default: ~/.bitrock/updates |
--check_for_updates | Boolean value to specify whether to check for updates or not. Default: 1 |
Example
To remotely launch the Autoupdate tool, run the following arguments from the command-line, making sure to replace the bold text with information appropriate to the specific environment and user.
"C:/Program Files (x86)/Syncedtool/bin/autoupdate.exe" --settings_file "C:/Program Files (x86)/Syncedtool/conf/update.ini" --mode unattended --unattendedmodebehavior download
