If a client organization is consistently seeing a “Partial” backup status for its Microsoft 365 OneDrive and SharePoint backups, this may be due to a known Microsoft issue in which the Microsoft API fails to return item‑level sharing permissions for certain files and folders. This behavior most commonly affects items that were deleted and later restored from the recycle bin.
This issue is associated with Microsoft advisory SP1177145. Microsoft has indicated that the underlying root cause has been addressed; however, a comprehensive fix for all previously impacted items has not yet been fully deployed, and remediation efforts are still ongoing.
If your organization is affected by this behavior—resulting in partial backup completion for certain OneDrive and SharePoint containers in x360Cloud—you may consider applying the following workaround:
1. Navigate to the organization that is experiencing backup issues in x360Cloud.
2. Open the “Object Backup Status” report and specifically review the OneDrive or SharePoint File objects reported as “Failure” at the top of the list:

3. Check the detail of the issue with the failed objects. For this click the “Issue Title” where “Microsoft 365 GraphAPI error” is reported:

wherever x360Cloud reports the issue as “Microsoft GrphAPI” error with “permissions” in the “Error Detail” section, this is the known issue that can be worked around:

4. Allocate the files in Microsoft OneDrive by name ("Title" column) and folder path ("Object Path" column) and download them locally.
5. Delete the files from OneDrive and re-upload them back to OneDrive, so that Microsoft OneDrive treats them as new files.
This removes the objects affected by the known Microsoft API issue. Since the API functions correctly for newly created data, recreating the items ensures x360Cloud can successfully process and back them up without further errors.
This will allow to eliminate the known Microsoft API errors for the historical troubled files, as the Microsoft API is working fine for new data, and will allow x360Cloud to successfully back them up.
