Slow or failed sync process when both the desktop client and the Webroot client are installed - x360Sync

Overview 

In certain instances, partners have reported a slowed or failed sync process when both the x360Sync desktop client and Webroot client are installed within the same environment. In more extreme cases, the desktop client might not complete the registration process. 

Resolution

Updating Webroot settings in the Webroot console might help alleviate sync and registration issues. 

  1. First, allowlist the desktop client installation directory (typically, C:\Program Files (x86)\<branded desktop client name>).
  2. Next, disable the Identity Shield setting.
  3. Finally, disable the Check files for threats when written or modified setting. 

Important: It is always recommended that the antivirus vendor be contacted for guidance prior to AV setting modification.
